image for Christmas day in India shocks western ex-patriots!
He's made his way to India, but he forget to tell the working, lower class!

Bangalore Herald, Bangalore, India: No plum puddings, turkeys, Christmas puddings and crackers, etc, here in India for the working, lower classes, it's just another back breaking day.

Indians although knowing full well that today is Christmas day tend to completely ignore it, in fact they don't even bother.

Ex-patriots experiencing Christmas here do buy Christmas trees, decorate their luxury apartments and give each other presents, but as for the natives, they don't give a Christmas crap.

Instead of waking up to the sound of laughing, smiling kiddies opening their gifts, the waking up call here is hammering, building, traffic chaos and work, work, work.

Blood, sweat and tears is on the Christmas menus in the tin huts and shanty towns surrounding the luxurious icons of the well off.

Working from dawn till dusk is normal on the 25th and even if Jesus himself was to walk down the main street, they'd ignore him.

The latest religion to swamp India is booming capitalism and those who can enjoy it will maybe pull a cracker or two; for those supporting it from the bottom the only crackers they receive are the ones their bosses stick up their butts if they don't appear for work on Christmas Day.

Merry Xmas, Indian style!
