LONDON - As the severs holding website TheSpoof.com registered that the 666th person was reading the page, the internet crashed.

The outage, which caused major work startages from Los Angeles to Auckland across the globe, meant that work output decreased by over minus 200% (i.e. increased by 200%). However, the IT and Gaming sector recorded a 20% drop in output.

"Oh dear," said one person. "I'm going to Twitter this shi... oh."

When the 667th person URL'd www.thespoof.com the internet then restarted, however all data was lost, including YouTube, Facebook, and other stuff. Online gaming, emails and other data transfer protocols were deleted.

Over 200 thousand trillion words of daily expression was lost by popular site BlogSpot.

According to a US government memo, (though technically, the world wide web was invented by a Brit, but then again the internet itself was invented by the US), the government 'did not have a backup of the internet stored on a memory stick.' However, they said 'they were getting around to building one'.

In fact, this article is the first ever piece of data to be uploaded to the World Wide Web.

"This sucks ass," said one BlogWrite user. "My whole life feels meaningless. I want to just control-alt-delete myself and hit 'end task'."

Many offline media outlets are trying to fill the void left by the internet, with newspapers re-publishing news every 20 minutes, TV channels repeating clips of people staring at a webcam, and other things.

As of press time, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Larry Page (owner of Google)will meet at a New York Convention Centre using interactive 3D conferencing known as real-life.
