The fridge, in happier days.

Explorers searching for an ancient Berbers burial site, in the heart of the Sahara desert, have told of their shock at finding an abandoned, used fridge.

The Electrolux appliance was seemingly discarded about 5 years ago, according to the last PAT testing date sticker, on the back of the unit.

"We were stunned," said Dr Butter Nudgeworth of the University of Looking For Things in Atlanta, "we'd been travelling with our Tuareg guides for over eleven days, without seeing any sign of life, when we saw this rather dusty looking box in the distance."

One of their team was sent forward by camel, to check it out.

"On closer inspection, Brandy Capstan, our chief researcher, radio'd back to say it was a fridge! And that wasn't all," continued Nudgeworth, "it still had a Toffee Yoghurt in it!"

The yoghurt only confirmed the apparent date of discardation of the lonely white good.

"It was about five years past it's best, and the extreme heat of the desert (or should that be dessert?) had certainly made the eating of the pudding well beyond the minds of sane beings!" he continued.

Theories as to who had dumped the appliance so far out, are cause for endless arguments, but the most accepted theory is pikeys (or Caravan Utilising Nomadic Travellers, as the politically correct now wish them to be known).

Katie Price was heard to comment that 'perhaps it was just having a holiday'. Stupid bitch.

The fridge was left in place by the team, and the council are expected to remove it sometime next year, as long as it's not a bank holiday.

Make Nick Hobbs's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
