image for Iran secretly sends Mahmud Ahmedinejad on rocket with animal menagerie into space

TEHRAN, Iran - Iran has announced that on Wednesday it launched an Iranian version of Noah's Ark [including a mouse, two turtles and worms] into space on a research rocket.

This was meant to show the world that Iran could defeat the West in the battle of space technology. Initially, Iranian space scientists had planned to include a monkey in the menagerie but as the Revolutionary Guard had murdered all living Iranian monkeys a last minute switch was made - using President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to replace the monkey.

Iran's state TV broadcast images showing officials putting a mouse, two turtles and about a dozen worms inside a capsule which appeared to be about 10 feet long. Iranian TV then aired footage of the rocket blasting off. Cameras fitted inside the rocket filmed the movements of the animals as well as images from the rocket's exterior, transmitting it to experts on the ground. An Iranian spokesman said the rocket traveled all the way to Paradise then returned safely thanks be to God.

Opposition members have said they have noticed a more pronounced simian smirk to the President since his return to Terra Firma. He has also been seen dragging himself by his knuckles and scratching his armpits and grooming the Chief Ayatollah during high level meetings.
