image for London destroyed by space meteor - actually a hoax
A fireman demonstrates a flamethrower similar to the one used by the boy, made from a can of deoderant and some matches

This week, 24 hour world news coverage has been depicting London as a huge flaming crater after a devastating meteor impact.

But when humanitarian aid arrived in London today at a cost of £300,000,000,000.97 everything seemed fine with no evidence of meteor impact or dead goats.

French news company L'Agent De News uncovered the hoax which was staged by a five year old English boy who said he did it because he was bored.

He telephoned news agencies around the world and told them that London had been destroyed by a huge flaming meteor.

He described in detail how people popped like balloons and how fearful goats ran rampant. Also the goats popped like balloons but not before they had wrestling matches (like mummy and daddy do sometimes in the afternoon at weekends) with anything that moved.

He fabricated actual video footage of the devastation using Lego buildings, a football, matches and a can of deodorant (used as a flame gun) which he filmed with a mobile phone. It was this news footage which was shown around the world constantly for over a week with punchy news captions like 'London destroyed by Meteor'... and stuff like that.

Global meteor aid humanitarian (and goat lover) Kurt Oglesteinburger commented, "When we Landed in London we saw no evidence of meteor damage or dead goats, we're a little annoyed."

Suspicious, L'Agent De News telephoned the boy's home where his father answered and told them there was no meteor and he was fine, thanks for asking and what's with the funny accent?

The boy's parents have apologised and promised that he'll be savagely whipped as punishment. They claim no part in the prank.

They also stated for the record that they don't wrestle in the afternoon at weekends, they actually partake in rough sex; the wrestling is just a cover story.

Make Frank Miller's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
