Some Of The Massive Damage From The Asteroid

Narberth PA-- NASA scientists are reporting tonight that a small asteroid nearly hit the earth's surface on Friday. The asteroid, named 2009-mmm-mmmmm-mmmmmmm, came within only one centimeter of striking the earth's surface. Luckily, the asteroid was only one millimeter in diameter. If the asteroid had hit, it could have made a crater almost a meter in diameter.

NASA tracked the asteroid 2009-mmm-mmmmm-mmmmmmm as it approached the East Coast. President Obama was alerted and the military was put on Defcon-1. Evacuation orders were put into place as the asteroid swiftly approached the small Pennsylvania town of Narberth.

Happily, the asteroid only skimmed the ground and then quickly zoomed off back into Outer Space. Scientists estimate it was travelling at a speed of almost 1 kilometer an hour.

Some minor damage was reported to local authorities. A red-ant had part of its antenna knocked off as the asteroid approached. A blade of grass also had a small hole ripped into it by the space rock. The worst damage was done to an unfortunate gnat that happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Authorities fear the nameless gnat might have been killed, search parties are still looking for the unfortunate insect.
