Seatbelts Cause of Decline in Discipline

Detroit - Researchers here have concluded that since the advent of the use of seatbelts in the early sixties traffic related fatalities have declined appreciably along with family discipline.

Sociologists have long attributed the decline in family discipline with the liberalizing of society that took hold in the sixties associated with flower power, the peace movement, feminism and Liberace.

New research now shows that parents bound securely with seat belts and shoulder restraints no longer can freely turn round to swat unruly children in the backseat with a free hand while driving as their parents did.

Researchers admit that their fathers used to be able to drive on the Interstate at eighty miles an hour with the window down, smoking a cigarette, with the radio on full-blast, talking to their mother while whuppin their ass with their free hand, and that they are better men and women for it today.

GM tests show attempts to smother brats with inflated airbags is not nearly as successful
