image for Pope to spend six years in space for NASA
Pope Benedict XVI making the announcement

The leader of the Catholic church Pope Benedict XVI, is to spend over six years in space as part of a NASA experiment aiming to discover alien life in the universe. The announcement came after a conference at the Vatican earlier on this week.

During the experiment, the Pope will be living on board a one-man shuttle which will orbit the planet over six thousand times before setting out for a cosmic journey around the universe travelling a net distance of ten million light years. The Shuttle is expected to be launched next summer, and is estimated to arrive sometime during 2016.

The Pope will be expected to say Mass five times daily in an attempt to attract alien life and will make various blessings on arrival to many of his main stop-by destinations, including the planets Gotton, Saturn 3, and seven of Cowsick's moons. He's currently undergoing fierce training exercises at NASA Headquarters in Washington, DC.
