image for Saddam Appears in Court for Parking Offenses
It's a story of man called Hussein...

BAGHDAD, July 1 - Saddam Hussein has appeared in court in Baghdad, a U.S. military official has told The Spoof. "It is under way," the official said on Thursday.

A tribunal will charge Hussein and 11 of his top lieutenants with parking offences today, months ahead of trials that could help Iraq come to terms with 35 years of Baathist parking.

Charges against the 12 are expected to include parking on Zig Zags before Zebra Crossings, double parking, speeding in School zones and kerb crawling,as well as crimes against hyundai, but it is not yet clear what offences each individual will be charged with.

During his 26 year reigh Hussein is alleged to have adopted an "I'll park where I bloody well like" attitude and encouraged his lieutenants to do the same.

The Ministry of Defence building was designed without any off road parking whatsoever and in the run up to the US led invasion last year many Iraqi citizens had trouble getting through to the local Asda because of the congestion caused by the double parking of official limos and Saddams Segway.

It is estimated that he has amassed a personal liabilty in tickets alone of 29.5 million dollars. However he claims to have not recieved the tickets citing strong winds and cruise missile blasts blowing them off the windscreen.

He made no statement other than pleading not guilty.

Make Stu B's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)
