image for Obama Accidentally Calls Cinco De Mayo "Our Independence Day"
Who's Independence Day?

Cinco de Mayo (May 5th) is one of two Independence Days in the country of Mexico (the other is the 16th of September). In a speech at a Media Fund-Raiser at a hotel banquet room in Southern California, President Barack Obama accidentally referred to it as "our Independence Day."

There was silence in the room for about five seconds before the waiters, waitresses, and bus boys all dropped their plates and bus tubs started cheering. Members of the media, who are attached to the President by the lips (to his ass) immediately joined the cry of "Viva Obama!" (translated as "long live Obama").

El Presidente went impromptu at that point and said that "we provide your children with free education, free medical care, and you with free welfare, so I don't understand why you are here doing these menial jobs. You people don't really have to work, so just go home and let your white, tax-paying, Republican hotel managers clean up this mess."

"Go home and drink cerveza, get your wives and girlfriends pregnant again, spend the rent money on tequila, and celebrate. In this country, every day is your Independence Day!"

They did.
