On Friday, the New York Times ran an op-ed by Libyan President Muammar Qaddafi. Qaddafi, the Israel-hating, bane-of-the-West leader who seized power in a 1969 coup has reformed himself in recent years.

Still, it was slightly jarring to read the article, which proposed a peaceful solution to the Israeli Palestinian conflict.

According to the venerable Times, however, this is only the beginning. Over the next week, they will be running a series of entries by enemies of the United States, so that Americans can be exposed to their perspectives.

Here is the schedule:

Saturday: "Achieving the Perfect Shmear on One's Bagel" by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

Sunday: "Befriending Your Neighbors" by Kim Jong Il

Monday: "Weight Loss" by Hugo Chavez

Tuesday: "Not Getting Killed by a Rocket Attack" by dead Al-Qaeda leader al-Zarqawi ("We're not expecting a lot from this one," said a NY Times editor)

Wednesday: "Celebrating President Obama's Historic Presidency" by David Duke

Thursday: "Implementing the 9/11 Commission's Recommendations" by Osama Bin-Laden

Make Dan Rosa's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
