image for Lord Coe wins gold in Lowering Expectation event
Walthamstow dog track - scene of 400m final

Lord Coe, chairman of the London Olympics has taken gold along with teammate Boris Johnson in the Lowering Expectations event.

Through their tireless work at press conferences the world is now convinced that London 2012 will be dull, pedestrian and a bit of a shambles.

"We are so proud" said Lord Coe, 58, "Getting recognition of this sort makes all the hard work worth it. We put a lot of effort into making sure the word 'legacy' is used as a replacement for cheap, unambitious or depressing when describing 2012. We don't want people thinking we will go to the kind of effort the chinese did. It's just not the British way"

Johnson said of the win "In every way possible London 2012 will be an embodiment of everything that it means to be British today - poor value for money, lack of vision and dullness beyond belief."

Microsoft took silver in the event with their Vista launch and Bronze went to a girl I met in a bar once.
