Trash ruins 'Live Earth' legacy

WORLD NEWS - Concert goers at the 'Live Earth' shows left behind at least 1,025 tons of trash strewn about the grounds of the many venues holding the concerts. Clean-up continues at most locations, and some will be closed indefinitely.

Wembley Stadium in London, and Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, were two of the hardest-hit by the crowds of "hippies' and 'beatnik' types, leaving behind what looked more like garbage-dumps than stadiums.

Wembley can only recycle one-third of the trash produced, the rest will have to be put into landfills. Styrofoam, which made up most of the litter, cannot be recycled.

London's Minister of Trash and Swill said he's never seen anything like it. "These folks supposed to care about the environment, but just look at this place? There are Styrofoam cups, plastic bottles, and feces everywhere," he said.

Giants Stadium needs to have its playing field replaced which will set back football and soccer games for months.

"It's ruined! It's goddam ruined," said Giants Stadium union groundskeeper, Vinny "The Thug" Imbaglio. "They say that they're anti-pollution, but they're really anti-bathroom, anti-trash can, and anti-shower. Can't you smell it?"

NY Jets and NY Giants practice and preseason games will be played at a high school in Yonkers.
