We are the owners of the revolution - Jong-Il

The United Nations has surprised the world by making North Korean leader Kim Jong Il their eighth Secretary-General. The controversial figure is said to be "delighted" by the news and has said he wants to make "bringing back communism" his most pressing goal.

Kim Jong-Il (65) is not the first controversial figure to be given this high profile job. Former UN Secretary-General Saddam Hussein (69) had to step down last month after being involved in a high profile court case. Although Mr Hussein had been prematurely terminated from his position he showed true character and grace by saying that, "Jong-Il is an excellent choice and is sure to bring the countries of the world closer together, like a big happy nuclear family." Then added "even if he has to do it by force"

Jong-Il took his oath of office in front of the 192-Nation UN General Assembly. During his inaugural speech Jong-Il proclaimed "We are the owners of the revolution, I wish to create an indestructible unit, to rid the world of the capitalist exploiters and free the workers from their shackles. For they are the real owners of the power and I will forever defend their interests."
