Olympic Rings after the gaff.

The man responsible for the Olympic ring mishap was sentences to 18 years of hard labor in a Siberian prison camp today.

Vladimir Netsov, 53, of Moscow was the technical director of the opening ceremonies at the Olympics in Sochi, Russia on Friday.

Everything was going exactly to plan when a software glitch would not allow the last snowflake to open into the final Olympic ring. The rest of the opening ceremonies went off without a hitch.

Netsov was dismayed at the failure but, continued his duties. Unfortunately for Netsov, Russian President Putin was in attendance. He was heard to say, "This is a disgrace to the Motherland!" He reputedly ordered his Deputy of Disinformation, Sasha Dukgetsimova to immediately find who was responsible and send him to Siberia for "training".

The Russian hockey team is said to be "frightened" if they don't win some type of medal in this Olympics.
