image for Media hopes for outbreak of swine flu or something interesting
Media outlets encourage you to consort with pigs frothing at the mouth

With the news of hurricanes quickly whisking themselves away, the media turns to cold and flu season for its latest outbreak of media frenzy.

This affliction which affects mainly reporters and those who run news agencies occurs any time a story is deemed interesting enough for people to watch news channels without interruption and to buy newspapers and magazines when they normally don't read them.

An old standby, of course: swine flu.

In order for swine flu to strike again, there are actions that the media would like to see the public untertake:

· Be around sick people
· Do NOT cover your nose and mouth with tissue or your sleeve when coughing or sneezing
· Leave used tissues around public places like restaurant tables, busses, church
· Do NOT wash your hands frequently with soap and warm or hot water, NOR use an alcohol-base hand gel
· Touch other people's eyes, nose and mouth
· If you think you may be sick, continue to go to work, school and social gatherings and don't tell others you're sick

By working together, the media will continue to have a field day at the expense of our emotional well-being.

Make Lyndon's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
