New York, NY-- An unexpected poke on Facebook has resulted in a New York man's partial blindness. Mr. Zander Zee says he was playing Farmville on the popular social network when a Facebook friend reached through cyberspace and accidentally poked his right eye out. Mr. Zee says he will sue Facebook for $100 million.
Facebook users can poke each other all the time. The poke is usually meant as a friendly gesture, and no one has ever been hurt before. The Facebook legal team says they are ready to fight the lawsuit.
"It's just ridiculous." said legal expert Heraldo Rivers. "It's like having a tractor accident while playing Farmville."
Lawyers for Mr. Zee say there are 'hundreds' of accidents like this everyday on Facebook, and there should be warning signs posted, at the very least. They point out cyberspace can be full of many unexpected problems.
"We are now handling hundreds of cases just like this We hope to make billons of dollars." said a lawyer for the defense. "And someone just had a tractor accident while playing Farmville."
