The controversy over the provocative photo on Congressman Anthony Weiner's twitter page doesn't seem to be going away. Weiner is vehemently denying he had anything to do with it. However, rumors are rampant that the photo did indeed come from his office.

The AP is reporting that a source within the Congressman's office, speaking on condition of anonymity, has stated the photo was real and had been planned for use in commercials for the 2012 election.

"I remember the day it was taken," said the source. "Someone asked me if they could borrow a sock and I took off one of my sweat socks not knowing what they wanted if for. When I found out, I told them to keep it!" Another staffer speaking off the record said, "We were going to label it, Too big to fail, and nothing to hide!"

In related news, it is being reported the GOP is quietly reaching out to Congressman Weiner to see if he would consider joining their caucus. "Most of us could use a good stocking stuffer, or more precisely a good stuffer stocking,' said the GOP staffer.

When asked about this proposal by the GOP, the Congressman replied, "No way! We are use to Weiner envy from the GOP!"
