Washington, DC - Former astronaut Neil Armstrong revealed a bizarre secret about the moon to a gathering of scientists today. Mr. Armstrong was the featured speaker at a meeting of the Astronomy Association when he revealed the secret. Mr. Armstrong stated that the all Apollo moon landings found that the moon is really made from green Swiss cheese
The audience laughed in disbelief when they heard the news, they thought Mr. Armstrong was joking. Their laughter turned to stunned silence as he continued with his presentation.
Mr. Armstrong noted the moon looks much more green at a closer distance. NASA placed special lens filters on all the cameras to hide the real color. Mr. Armstrong also noted there was a strong smell of burning cheese, just before the lunar module landed on the Sea of Tranquility. The astronauts gathered up as much of the green cheese as they could before heading back to the lunar module.
Mr. Armstrong said the astronauts made grilled green cheese sandwiches and ate all the green cheese before returning to Earth. He said "we were tired of eating that freeze-dried shit."
The former astronaut ended his remarks with a strange statement.
"Follow-up visits to the moon by other astronauts confirmed a theory first proposed in the 16th Century. The moon really is made from green cheese. The Universe is far stranger than we know, or can even imagine."
