Sources say US Secretary of State Colin Powell recently flew out to Dallas, Texas to audition for next year's edition of the Fox reality show, "American Idol".
"Colin really likes music and he wants to get into the music industry as a singer," said an unnamed White House source. "If this goes well, he might even pursue a singing career." American Idol judge Simon Cowell, known for his abrasive comments toward contestants, was not so optimistic. "If he's got talent, great, but based on what I've heard, he sounds absolutely ghastly. I thought two mooses were mating backstage." Powell was seen backstage at the taping of one audition, dressed in a T-shirt with Idol reject William Hung's photo on the front that read "William Hung is MY Idol". How do the other Idol judges feel about his voice? Randy Jackson commented, "He's a'ight."
