image for Impeached Blagojevich Keeps Alive Proud Illinois Tradition Of Corruption
This Man Looks Honest And Virtuous, Which Blagojevich Is Not.

Rod Blagojevich is doing his part to keep alive the proud Illinois tradition of corruption in Governor politics. He takes the mantle from such staunch predecessors as:

Republican George Ryan, who was convicted of racketeering and fraud; Democratic Otto Karner, charged with bribery and perjury in 1979; Democrat Dan Walker, arrested for bank fraud; and Republican Lennington Small who was charged with embezzlement.

Of course, one can also consider Secretary of State Paul Lowell who was discovered after his death to have millions of bucks in embezzled money stashed away in shoe boxes around his house.

Corruption has gotten so bad in recent years that the state of Illinois has legally changed its motto from 'the Land of Lincoln' to 'Al Capone Country'. The state of Kentucky, Lincoln's birthplace, has forcibly removed all statues of Lincoln from Illinois and impounded them.

People are starting to look to the Mafia and south side gangs for moral inspiration and roll models. A movement is underway to legalize the French art of guillotining political jackasses.
