Yes, that's right. Former Idol contestant George Huff is going to record his very first single. He will be recording his own rendition of an old classic, re-titled to fit his own likings. The sensation will be recording "Huff The Magic Dragon" which is in the same tune as the original classic, Puff The Magic Dragon, but slightly different words.
"This is really something, man," Said Huff, 22, who, along with 17-year-old ex-finalist John Stevens and 19-year-old winner Fantasia Barrino, made it pretty far up the competition. "I have always loved this song and it's sure a pleasure to record it." George told The Spoof last week.
Idol judges Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul loved the idea of recording the '60's classic, especially Randy, "Props, dude, you really made this your own song, and I love how you put my name in it. Very good, dawg, very good." said Randy, in his little attempt to be funny.
However, Simon wasn't too pleased with the lyrics of the song, "How in the bloody sakes of Seacrest could anyone have the nerve to say something as ridiculous as what that nutty redhead John Stevens put in?? That is totally non-X-factor and I want him to know that!! The worst part is, George Huff has to sing that part!! I am definitely not buying this one!! Sorry George, John, Fantasia, I'm not impressed!" Simon rants, referring to a line that says, 'Simon Cowell shut his mouth', in some lyrics that John Stevens suggested.
More information should be available on the album next week
