image for UK Special Relationship Taken To New Level
Brown practising English

Taking Britain's "special relationship" with the United States to a new level, Gordon Brown will travel to Connecticut in late January 2009 to meet with Barack Obama to see if they should wed under Connecticut's recently passed legislation permitting same sex marriage.

Obama would delight an important constituency of his Democrat party as also George Brown who has seen a resurgence in his fortunes back home with his accent becoming an increasingly effeminate version of "Home County" English, compared to his previously gruff Scottish burr.

Obama has assured Brown that he would force Connecticut to pass a law ignoring and nullifying the candidates' existing marriages as long as they remained in Connecticut.

Brown, it has been reported, is canvassing his party to see who would be willing to relocate to the Constitution State and who would be willing to contemplate marriage to other members of Obama's cabinet.

"It's vewy important that we maintain the best of welations in these trying times", said Brown, in his newly acquired accent.

Aides hinted that Brown would wear a suit made up of patchwork Union Jacks for the wedding to highlight his Britishness.

When Brown was asked if he would wear a kilt at the wedding, "What a tewible idea, old chap", he replied, with his best grimace.
