image for Palin wanted honor for Kennedy
"Of course I'm ok to drive!"

Roadkill, Alaska - Governor Sarah Palin has confirmed reports that the proposed Alaskan 'bridge to nowhere' was to be named the 'Chappaquiddick' in honor of Senator Ted Kennedy.

Other names considered for the Gravina Island Bridge included: 'The Mary Jo', 'the Kopechne' and the "Come on, touch it, you got did it for my brother."

Howvever, Governor Palin decision to cancel the bridge was been seen as a victory over pork barrel spending. The $223 million she did receive was instead put towards other projects in the State including an Eskimo Water Park in Central Alaska and additional funding for the 'Juneau City College'- one college that Governor Palin is pretty sure she didn't attend.

Senator Kennedy when reached for comment said:

"I like bubbles."
