image for Copa Challenged as Hottest Spot North of Havana
Hottest spot north of Havana it ain't

In a major coup, the Casa Nina, a show bar in the Florida Keys, has claimed to be THE hottest spot north of Havana, and dismissed the Copacabana as a "commercial tourist trap".

Diego Elfuera, the owner of the Casa Nina which is actually only 95 miles north of Havana, believes that his bar is far superior to the Copa, and deserves the long held title;

"The CopaCabana has had its day. Maybe twenty five years ago it was a cool place to go, but now it's overrun with tourists and all it's showgirls are called Lola. And New York? Please! By their reckoning Iceland is North of Havana! Besides, they no longer do the Cha-Cha, I've been to the copa on many occasions and have yet to see it."

Juan Carlos Martinez, the current manager of the Copa cabana dismisses Elfuera's claims; "The Copa will always be the hottest spot north of Havana. Casa Nina is just a pretender to the throne. Also, the Casa is not directly north of Havana, it is to the north east."

When asked if music and passion are still the fashion at the Copa, S. Martinez replied; "Sure, whatever".

Though the title of Hottest Spot North of Havana carries no legal benefits, the row continues over the right to use the slogan on business cards. The Time Out Peace Corps. May be discharged to settle the argument if hostilities continue.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
