Washington DC - (Rioters): How does he do it? And why can't anybody better his record? Those are the questions baffling hundreds of millions of Americans this week following the news that for the seventh year in a row George W Bush has topped the bill in the Most Foolish American contest.
"There's been some stiff competition this year," the competition organisers admitted, "like Anna Nicole Smith.
"And let's not forget her mother Virgie Arthur, a wacko of the first order on a par with Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband Prince Frederik von Assfelt.
"Plenty of nominations came in for Britney, although when we checked the votes most could be traced to her husband Kevin Federline's lawyers. But she's in the top five allright.
"Then Anne Coulter, Reverend Pat Robertson and Jerry Fallwell - they all come close in the top 20. As does Governor Mitt Romney, Captain Lisa Nowak and perennial favorite Donald Trump.
"But in the end it was the usual toss-up. President Bush, his Veep Dick Cheney and their White House apologist Karl Rove.
"Totting up the points a clear winner emerged same as last year, and the year before, and all the way back to 2001. It's George W Bush, perrenial favorite and all-time class act in the global folly stakes."
Internet spread betting index Aintgottaprayer.com has alredy reported a wall of money for the 2008 title and quotes Bush as retaining the title at 1/100 FAV.
