WASHINGTON DC - In Congressional hearings on the CIA leak investigation, Virginia Congressman Tom Davis illustrated just what is wrong with those associated with the Republican Party. His line of inquiry directed at the honorable Mrs. Valerie Plame Wilson was condescending and very disrespectful of the fact that she was the victim of the crime they were supposed to be investigating.
Too much of the questioning was focusing on if she was really a 'covert' agent. In a rare cases of openness the CIA did confirm that her status was a covert CIA employee that had functioned as a covert agent operating outside the US for the counter proliferation division.
Another Republican Congressman Lynn Westmoreland, was confused with the terms undercover, covert and classified; and was confused with how to talk to a spy. An aid whispered into the Congressman ear: "talk to her like the life of your family might depend on it." The congressman's time ran out.
In the course of the inquiry false assessments of the facts were also attributed to three Republican Senators. Karl Rove was also brought up as one of the leakers.
As the inquiry progressed, one thing became very clear, no administration before has stooped so low as blow the cover of such valuable intelligence assets.
Our undercover reporter talked to a spittoon polisher at the CIA and ask what he thought the ramifications might be. "I can say that prior to February 2003 Dick Cheney was a frequent pest pushing, and fixing the intelligence analysis to his needs: Iraq war. To this day there are a small group known as the PFC or Plame Fan Club, that were considering taking measures to 'correct' security leaks."
When we asked our source what he thought the best way to prevent leaks like this was, he said: "Pogroms for Republican politicians and voters. Oh, FOX News employees should be rendered, one-way!"
