They're not solar panels, they're billboards - NASA

International Space Station, Orbit Earth - Astronauts this week have been frantically working to convert the remaining areas of the International Space Station into a replica of the famous US eatery, the International House of Pancakes (IHOP).

"No, they're not solar panels, they're billboards. One will say International House of Pancakes, and the other will say next rest stop, The Moon." said NASA specialist Jim Greinberg, head of NASA's food and beverage relations.

NASA officials explain that because of the impending moon base initiative, travel between the earth and moon will be quite "boring" and therefore the agency has decided to "give the moon boy's one last taste of home".

"The syrup dispensers have been the hardest thing to design," said NASA food dispensing engineer Jimmy Bulgeround. "We had trouble getting it to shoot onto the pancakes at zero gees."

The problems though, have been resolved. The first pancakes with whipped cream and strawberry sauce are expected to be served in 2008, with regular service when the moon missions begin.

IHOP unofficial spokesman Lee Diarheeman voiced his excitement about the opening at "Breakfast '06" in Las Vegas last week. "This has been a dream of mine since 1988; we are looking forward to lousy service and cheap food for all space travellers."
