Florida based dad Kenny Mook announced Wednesday he has vetoed a controversial telephone bill that would have allowed his daughter to continue texting, playing games and chit chatting with her friends when she be doing her homework.
Mook, who spent several days considering whether to pay the bill, said it had "the potential to create more problems than it purports to solve. It could divide this family in ways we cannot even imagine and no one would ever want."
Among the first to congratulate Mook for his decision Wednesday was his son, Mark, who had had urged him to veto the bill.
"I appreciate the decision made by my father to veto this bill and not pay it. Samantha is always on the phone and her over usage is causing our family plan to spiral out of control. I hope that we can now move on from this controversy and assure the rest of the family that though Sammy's portion of the bill will not be paid, the rest of the families phone lines remain fine."
