image for Obama says pot no worse than booze...not in so many words
Those aren't clouds and smog floating above our nation's capital.

WASHINGTON D.C. - President Obama this week held tightly to his position that marijuana is no worse than booze, a bad habit that, if indulged in to excess, could lead to problems. "Could," that is.

"Purple Haze was in my brain," said President Obama in voicing his support for Colorado's and Washington's legalization of the drug. "Lately things don't seem the same."

In a long and wide-ranging interview in the New Yorker, published Sunday, Obama went on to say, "Actin' funny but I don't know why, 'scuse me while I kiss the sky.

"Purple Haze all around, don't know if I'm coming up or down. Am I happy or in misery? Whatever it is, that girl put a spell on me."

When pressed on whether or not it was his wife Michelle who "put a spell" on him, Obama skirted the question, determined to make his point.

"Purple Haze was in my eyes, don't know if it's day or night. You've got me blowing, blowing my mind. Is it tomorrow or just the end of time?"
