image for The Kentucky Derby Could Be Moving To Detroit
The mayor of Detroit says that he would be thrilled for his city to be the new home of The Kentucky Derby.

DETROIT - President Obama has just informed the mayor of Detroit that there is a very strong possibility that the famed Kentucky Derby could be moving from Louisville, Kentucky to Detroit, Michigan in 2015.

The president told the mayor that the reason for the move would be to help the bankrupt city of Detroit bring in some much needed tourists and their thousands of dollars.

President Obama spoke with Durango Tucker of National Focus Magazine and he told him that the people of Louisville and Kentucky are understandably upset but he, as president of the United States, has to do what he feels is in the best interest of the country.

The city of Louisville has threatened to take legal action against the monumental move and the president has responded by saying that if they do he will personally see to it that the state of Kentucky does not receive one thin dime from the federal government in regards to interstate highway funds.

SIDENOTE: President Obama told The View's Barbara Walters that if the city of Louisville wants to play hardball with him then they had better get some mighty big fielder's gloves because he is one hell of a heavy hitter.

Make Abel Rodriguez's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)
