image for 'Whitey' Bulger a cult hero in Ecuador as court convicts on racketeering charges
FBI file shot

Boston - The Ecuadorean epicenter of corruption and racketeering has commissioned a 50ft bronze statue of James 'Whitey' Bulger who was found guilty of 32 counts of mobster stuff by a Boston jury today.

Captured after 18 years on the run in Santa Monica Lewinksy, California the fugitive from justice has been immortalized as an artform by local Lago Agrio sculptors in a refurbishment of Ecuador's faded supreme court of justice buildings.

It's believed the tribute will stand in a secluded garden within the court house compound that's sometimes used for witness intimidation - er...meditation! - as in the famous Amazonbotch v Chevron trial of 2011.

Lawyers familiar with the fraudulent judgement reckon the Bulger erection is a fitting mark of respect to one of America's biggest mobsters, an inspirational figure to up-and-comers like Ecuador's President Rafael Correa.

For it is El Presidente who is on record as saying he's taking a personal interest in Amazonbotch's $19 billion judgement against might Chevron, the enforcement of which has landed the polluters' group, their lawyers and the entire Lago Agrio fantasy factory before a New York judge in the forthcoming massive Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations [RICO] Act lawsuit this fall.

The price of a barrel of sweet light crude still hovers around the $100-110 mark.
