GREEN BAY, Wisconsin - Singer Meat Loaf was sitting in his backstage dressing room after having just finished performing in The Box of Snowballs Auditorium before a crowd estimated to be around 219 people.
The rotund singer had just taken his third bite out of his Butterball turkey when he was asked by Buck Yazoo of Yippee-Ki-Yay Magazine how his diet was going.
Meat Loaf put the Butterball down and asked, "And what diet pray tell are you talking about Mr. Yazoo?"
Yazoo grinned and replied, "My point exactly Mr. Meat Loaf."
Meat Loaf started laughing so hard he dropped a drumstick (a turkey one not a drummer one) and just missed having it hit his right ankle.
He reached down and picked it up saying the five second germ rule.
Yazoo smiled and said that he would be willing to bet that with him it would be more like the 45 second germ rule.
Meat Loaf laughed again but this time the Butterball was sitting securely on his lap and it did not budge.
He was asked if he was going to be voting for President Obama or for Mitt Romney.
The 64-year-old singer replied that he was voting for Romney because Romney looks like a businessman and he likes businessmen like Donald Trump, Bill Gates, and Wadsworth Finstertoodle.
[EDITOR'S NOTE: I Googled the name Wadsworth Finstertoodle and I got nothing.]
Yazoo told Meat Loaf that he had interviewed T-Bone Burnett the night before at Bob Dylan's apartment in Manhattan.
T-Bone at one time played guitar in Dylan's band. He has since become a record producer and has worked with such artists as Counting Crows, Elton John, Camel Carl & The Desert Rag Headz, and most recently The Dungeon Dwellers of Windsor Castle.
Burnett was asked who he had endorsed for president. T-Bone smiled, took two drinks from his bottle of Seagrams 7, and replied that he was voting for the man who cares about the poor, the elderly, the middle class, military men and women, and Big Bird and the Muppet's...President Obama.
