image for Fiona Apple fights the system
A local drunkard named "Slippery Willie" says he's used to the procedure.

Fiona Apple claims she experienced abuse while jailed in Texas. She is upset at the behavior of four female deputies who watched over her stay.

The Grammy-winning singer told the audience at her next show about it, and videos of her harsh speech were posted on the web.

The Hudspeth County Sheriff's public information officer issued a sharp rebuttal Monday.

Rusty Jackson explained to the media that Mrs. Apple
was in disagreement with the staff at the jail because she didn't want two female deputies to do her cavity check.

The staff explained to her that it was standard procedure and the female deputies would be gentle.

Reps for Fiona Apple came out with the statement that certain people were spreading rumors about things they saw.

It's being reported that deputies were making smirk remarks at the station while Mrs. Apple was listening to their conversations.

Mrs. Apple heard one female deputy say, "Passing elephant dung is the only thing that can leave behind that kind of hole."

After she was released from jail, Fiona Apple did a concert in Houston where she launched into her critical remarks before her first song.

"Most of the people were very nice to me," she said. "There are four of you out there, and I want you to know that I heard everything you did."
