image for Romney to complete Gulf War trilogy

Mitt Romney has made a last ditch effort to get his campaign for president back on track by promising that, should he be elected to office, he will conclude the Gulf War with a final, epic instalment.

The first Gulf War, Operation Desert Storm, was the brainchild of U.S. President George H.W. Bush, and was completed in just over one year, but America's insatiable thirst for war and oil all but guaranteed a sequel.

Unfortunately, Gulf War II: The War on Terror, directed by President Bush's son, President George W. Bush, wasn't as successful as the original. Critics dismissed the war as a cheap attempt to turn a profit and panned it for both its length and ambiguous ending.

Romney has promised that his, as yet untitled, final instalment of the trilogy will have a huge production budget and deliver the closure that fans of the first 2 Gulf Wars have been calling for.

Details still remain sketchy, but it is rumoured that Dick Cheney has signed on to produce what is sure to be the Grand Old Party's opus. But is the promise of an end to the Gulf War series enough to get Romney into office? That remains to be seen.

Make Kris Wood's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
