Rockabye, NY-- A baby from Rockabye fell out of a tree during a fierce thunderstorm last night. Fortunately, the unnamed infant was caught by rescuers and wasn't injured. It is unknown how or why the baby was placed at the top of the tree.
An alert citizen named Hans Anderson heard a baby crying in a tree on Goose Street and immediately called 911.
"I was just standing on the corner of Goose Street when I heard this baby crying. I looked up and saw a cradle at the top of this tree and I just couldn't believe it! What sort of maniac would put a baby in a tree!" said Mr. Anderson.
After Mr. Anderson called 911, things began to get much worse. A severe thunderstorm hit Rockabye with wind gusts of 60 miles per hour. The cradle at the top of the tree began rocking back and forth. A rescue unit from Rockabye arrived just in time to save the baby.
"We were very lucky." said rescuer Jim Grimm. "A wind gust broke a branch and the baby and cradle came tumbling down all at once."
It was Mr. Grimm's twin brother Joe Grimm who actually caught the baby.
"I closed my eyes and said a prayer, and thankfully I was able to catch the poor baby." said Joe Grimm.
The Grimm brothers then transported the baby to Rockabye Hospital for observation. The cradle was smashed to pieces.
Rockabye police continue to investigate the bizarre crime. They want to know who placed the baby at the top of the tree. Any tips from the public would be helpful.
