CASPER, WY (ANSNN) - Former Vice President Dick Cheney sent a written invitation to President Obama to come to his Wyoming ranch in April for some dove hunting. Dick Cheney loves to hunt doves; as his record in government affairs clearly shows.
The invitation read:
"Dear Mr. President:
The wife and me, well, we want to invite you up to our place in Wyoming this April for a round or two of dove hunting. A bunch of us guys out here get together every year and drink a whole lot of Pabst Blue Ribbon, run the dogs to flush game birds and take shots at them.
We wanted to make this hunt especially memorable by inviting you to hunt with us. We know you drink beer, so you'll fit it just swell with the group.
As you kn0w we got us an Air Force Base in Cheyenne what can take your 747.
RSVP as soon as you're able.
President Obama wrote a thank you note to the former vice president but said he'd not be able to make the trip. His Secret Service detail was adamantly opposed to the President being surrounded by a bunch of drunk cowboys with guns. And there was that February 12, 2006 shooting at a Texas ranch that left campaign contributor, 78-year-old Harry Whittington in Intensive Care as well.
Cheney reacted to the President's concerns with aplomb saying, "Well, hell, the guy got in the way. Besides, Obama has nothing to fear from me; I ain't never shot a dog, not one time."
