A BOOM in multiple births has led to the first shopping trolley with four seats. The number of mums having twins rose to 12,000 last year, prompting supermarkets to trial the quad - with extra seats immediately behind the first - in Sandhurst, Berks.
It said "increasing numbers of customers with several small children" wanted it.
Of course, that is in the South-East.
Merseyside, in the North-West, have immediately countered the claim of it being the first.
Diddle-lidl Manager from Garston, Liverpool, Mike Oscksbent, told us, "That's nowt lah. De trolleys we 'uv in us shop blimp more like fuck'n trains. Dee might 'uv tree er fo carriages. Also de 'andles 'uv ter be lower than normal trolleys because most o' de mums ay only 13 er 14."
