image for Pub Singer Arrested

A pub singer in a Bermondsey pub was arrested and jailed overnight after singing "I'm Not In Love" in front of a newly married couple.

Jack Taylor, who sings three nights a week at the Dog and Duck pub in Bermondsey High Street, London had just started the second verse of the 10 C.C classic when police officers entered the premises and took the bemused entertainer away in handcuffs.

Area Commander Quentin Somerville explained at a packed press conference that "At approximately 21.05 hours on the evening of Tuesday, April 26th, 2011 Bermondsey police station control room received an emergency call from a distraught young lady claiming that she and her husband of 3 days had been the subject of offensive comments uttered in a public place.

Our officers turned up at the location identified in the call and a 45 year old local man was arrested".

Its understood that the unfortunate singer will appear at Bermondsey Magistrates Court this afternoon to face charges of "conduct undermining the sanctity of marriage and uttering words that were liable to provoke a heated domestic argument".

Make grimbo's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
