image for Beans Found In Aldi's Beans Tin
Aldi's Own Vegetables

Mature Student Phil Yerboots, 36, from Swindon, got the shock of his adult life today when he opened a tin of his favourite 'Aldi's Own brand' Baked Beans and found nearly a dozen beans inside.

'I thought it was a joke at first, I wasn't amused at all' said Phil.

'I buy a tin every day to drink as a protein drink because it's full of juicy flavour. Like a baked bean smoothie, it sets me up for the day. To find lumpy intruders in there isn't funny, and I went straight to the manager of the store to complain.

He's promised me it was a rogue batch and it won't happen again so I've got to take his word on that.'

Aldi's supermarkets pride themselves on own brand products that are often so cheap you don't actually pay for them.

Phil's Aldi Branch Manager, Chester Draws added, 'We at Aldi pride ourselves on giving scroungers like Phil somewhere to come and buy ridiculously cheap food and then have the audacity to complain about it. His tin of beans cost 2p, the tight sod, but I've given him a refund, and a complimentary case of beans will be sent to his Mum's house. It's service with a smile at all times, the customer is always right.'
