Police in Inverness have collected a middle aged man, with ginger hair, from the Bus Station in Inverness.

Locals waiting for their buses had become alarmed at the increasingly bizarre behaviour of the man.

"He appeared to be carrying a House of Commons pass and was shouting incoherently into a mobile phone," said Hamish MacDougall, a local bus driver, "I could not understand all he was saying but it sounded like, £120 million pound a week interest, biggest peacetime deficit....."

Local schoolchildren were heard to mimic the man, which seemed to send him into a further rant. Then they began asking if he was the "ginger rodent" and he screamed that he would report them to the Chancellor.

"The Chancellor," they asked, " are you off Star Wars or Deep Space 9? Can you speak Klingon? Do you know Chancellor Gowron? Oh no, it must be Gordon Brown he knows, he's the Chancellor."

Police officers had to restrain the gentleman as he threatened to tell Nick Clegg.

PC Murdoch helped the man into an ambulance, where he was put in a straightjacket.

Nick Clegg denied all knowledge of the man adding that he must be deluded.
