Devon - A Plymouth Crown Court heard this week how tourism had trebled in the Lee Mill village area with the opening of a Nazi-themed S&M brothel.
Straightjacket Cottage was packed with whips, masks, paddles, handcuffs, shackles and Nazi sex regalia when officers raided it in 2009.
A meticulous trade diary kept by 39 year-old businessman Stuart Somers detailed clients' every pecadillo as well as 'extras' charged by the premises.
These included sessions on authentic German pre-World War II bondage chairs, a virtual surround-sound Berlin bunker and Carnival masks of the Queen Mother.
Somers has pleaded guilty to running a brothel and living off immoral earrings (sic).
In his defence he argued that by providing a specialised WWII-themed facility 'it kept Nazi aficionados off the streets' - especially in London's Third Reich hotspots such as around Buckingham Palace.
The argument cut little ice with the judge, however, who will sentence Somers later next month.
