image for Kate & Will - Shock Announcement
Prelude to a Happy Marriage

Kate Middleton and Prince William have provided more information about their forthcoming wedding.

The announcement will shock some people and puts in danger Government plans to make us all Happy.

The statement reads: 'Kate & Will wish to make clear their support for the direct action by students against increases in student fees. In accordance with austerity measures we will marry at a Register office with the minimum of fuss. The Archbishop of Canterbury has agreed to become a Registrar in order to officiate at the wedding. Dress will be informal. We are sorry Will's mother, Her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales, cannot be at the ceremony.'

Royal correspondents are despondent at the news. The Government is furious and the Queen is not amused.

However several students have welcomed the announcement. 'Good for them' one said 'we shall be able to get a real movement going to abolish student fees. Welcome Kate & Will to the real world.'

It is thought that behind the scenes a little arm twisting will deter the couple from carrying out their threats. However Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams, declared : 'These guys have got guts. I shall be happy to help them on their way to a good time.'

The wedding is likely to cost in the region of £1000, a picnic in Hyde Park will follow. The savings made by the couple will be used to support the campaign to oust all Liberal Democrats from Parliament.

Make j.w.'s day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
