LibDems See the Future!

Tremors were felt throughout Westminster at the news that Labour M.P. Phil Woolas has had his election made void. The LibDem contestant, who lost the election by 103 votes, claimed that Woolas had lied during the election campaign and a Judge has upheld the complaint.

Liberal Democrat M.P.'s are fearful that this sets a precedent and the election of all their M.P.'s will be declared void because they lied about not increasing VAT and not increasing Student fees.

A private judgement obtained by the Party has shaken them considerably. It declares that their excuse that they are now in a Coalition and that they therefore cannot keep to their pledges is invalid.

It is suggested that the LibDems were not anticipating being the ruling party after the election and that no one thought they would - thus they gave their pledges knowing they would only be in a Coalition if there was a Hung Parliament, in bad faith and were lying to the electorate on a false prospectus. The whole LibDem Party is facing the Void.

The Government would continue in power as with no LibDems to support either Party and the Tories would still have a majority. However the likelihood of new elections in all the constituencies where LibDems won would probably result in few, if any, LibDem M.P.'s elected.

Make j.w.'s day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
