Let that be a lesson...

There has been mixed reaction to the news that police officers have been out rounding up supermarket trolleys.

Officers managed to recover 43 in a joint operation with council officials in Sheerness, Kent.

Some locals have branded the mission a waste, but a police spokesman said residents frequently complained that abandoned trolleys were an eyesore and safety hazard.

And a residents association spokesman, Colin Idiot, told us: "This is a terrific initiative.

"These trolleys often hang around in gangs on street corners terrorising passers-by. They often get drunk on cheap sherry and strong lagers.

"They mess up the area with their graffiti and they have made some car parks no-go areas for decent citizens."

"And this is also for their own good - some of them get so drunk they fall into canals and rivers or onto the railway line. Very dangerous."

Make Ellis Ian Fields's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
