image for Pope hasn't passed CRB check, Hyde Park mass cancelled.
Pope Benedict XVI

The head of the Roman Catholic Church's visit to England has been mired by disappointment and upset for many but the latest blow was struck by officialdom and red tape.

In the United Kingdom, anyone wishing to work with children in an official capacity must first pass a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check, in order to ensure that they have a clean record. This is to help protect children and vulnerable adults when recruiting people into positions of trust.

Positions of trust such as, department store Santa, scout leader and God's representative on earth, etc, all require a CRB check. Unfortunately the Pope, who was to appear in Hyde Park, London and meet with thousands of devotees including children, should have filed an Independent Safeguarding Authority check, to show that he is safe to work with vulnerable people; apparently no such check has been carried out.

Make matthatt's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
