image for Bob Crow To Be Knighted?
How It Usually Looks Underground - But Less Crowded In This Pic.

Millions of Londoners, struggling to make their way to work in the teeth of the London Underground strike were left absolutely gobsmacked as rumours surfaced that RMT union supremo Bob Crow is to be knighted for his services to the people of London.

The reports - as yet unconfirmed - first surfaced on satirical website theSpoof.com and were quickly being flashed around the world.

Prompting fury in London.

"If this is true, it's a bloody disgrace," fumed investment banker Vicky Ripovsky. "You can't get a bus or a bloody taxi for love nor money today because Bob Crow has virtually shut down the Underground network."

Crow himself has become the subject of a Twitter hate campaign as people were forced to endure intolerable conditions on their journeys to work.

Some were even reduced to cycling, riding skateboards, and being a bloody nuisance on roller-blades.

"I don't know about giving him a knighthood," shop worker Jimmy Dullard grumbled. "Be more fitting if they took the swine to the Tower and beheaded him."

But not everybody was opposed to the rumoured knighthood. RMT member Vernon Ogilvy said:

"I don't see why everybody is having a pop at Bob Crow over this strike. He's only trying to protect people's jobs and maintain staffing levels at stations. People are always moaning about how dangerous the Underground is. Bob Crow just wants to make it a safer place. Maybe if the management had been a bit more willing to hold meaningful talks, this action could have been avoided."

Buckingham Palace declined to comment on the knighthood rumours.

More as we get it.
