image for Homer Simpson named Greatest TV Character!
Homer wins Greatest TV Character Vote

According to an Entertainment Weekly survey Homer Simpson has been voted the greatest TV and Film character of the last 20 years.

This is particularly poignant for England as it has long been known in celebrity circles that despite Homer being a US cartoon character - he is actually based on English journalist Vanessa Feltz.

Her love of eating is what inspired Matt Groening to pen the character, when he was visiting London and ate in the same restaurant as Feltz. Asked if she going to celebrate Homer's new accolade she said declined to comment (our reporter did hang around for her to finish her 'Doh'nuts, but he was unsure as to how many were left in the bag).

Make Mark Percival's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
