image for Gordon Brown To Join Conservative Party
New Tory, Old Phoney

Gordon Brown plans to join the Conservative Party in a bid to cling to power following his party's failure at the General Election.

He is currently in talks with David Cameron and the two are said to be getting along well. Conor Burns, Conservative MP for Bournemouth West, said "Gordon and David have been thrashing out a deal in secret. It's been so long since we were in power that having an experienced hand like Gordon will come in handy."

Brown is likely to be offered the position of Chancellor of the Exchequer in a Conservative Government. As Burns observed "Anyone will be better than George Osbourne".

Following news that Brown was to join the Conservatives Peter Mandelson declared "After all I've done for him! The ungrateful bitch!" The Labour Party will now undergo a leadership election, with Nick Clegg and David Cameron early favourites.
