A snap poll has shown that in spite of a national government awareness campaign, nearly twenty-three percent of adults are still unaware of Breast Appreciation Day. This will come as an urgent wake-up call to the Department of Over-Cs Development, which was set up specifically to publicise the event.
The survey was commissioned following government concerns that people were still 'hung up' with subjects such as the economy and the conflict in Afghanistan when Breast Appreciation Day was looming on the horizon.
Lord Mandelson, who is thought to be responsible for adopting the date from the US, has hit out at the inability of some people to become 'refocused'. He claims that if everyone embraced the event then there would be far less discontentment amongst ordinary people and politicians alike.
"It's time to celebrate boobies, not criticise them," he told a packed Post Office in Northampton, "If everyone gets on board with this initiative I think I can guarantee a happier population well into the next Labour term of government."
This year, Breast Appreciation Day falls on 28th September.
